From 1 August Mr Giovanni Bagiotti will be the new Asset Management Director of Mediolanum Gestione Fondi SGR, and will be working closely with the Group's holdings abroad.
Walter Ottolenghi, the Group's Corporate Development Director, remains Managing Director of Mediolanum Gestione Fondi SGR.
Giovanni Bagiotti's team will be Stefano De Chiara, who manages the investment funds under Italian law, the pension funds and the life insurance technical reserves; Dennis Merlini, who manages the Performance Measurement & Control unit; Paola Selmi, who manages del Back Office Securities of the investment funds under Italian law.
Giovanni Bagiotti was born in Milan in 1959 and joined Mediolanum with an impressive CV, having graduated from Bocconi in 1982 with a thesis on the Investment Funds of the US Money Market, and started his career with KPMG. From 1983 to 1989 he was with BNL Interbancaria and in 1990 went to Credito Italiano as manager of Gestioni Gesticredit. In 1996 he became manager of Risk Management in the Finance Division. From 1997 to 2002 he worked at Winterthur, first of all in Italy as director of Finance and Property and CFO, then from 2000 in Switzeralnd as investment manager and finally as manager of Corporate Development Worldwide of the Life and Pensions division.
