Over 70 customers received grants amounting to an overall total of approximately € 500,000. Furthermore, integration of the grants already envisaged by the Region and State with an additional 20% of the amount, in order to guarantee a total reimbursement of nearly 100%, was also considered.
The decision to help its customers directly and to concretely intervene as quickly as possible is now a consolidated practice for Banca Mediolanum, starting with the 1994 flood in the Piedmont region (1 billion to customers). Given the close relationship between our Family Bankers and customers, it is easy to acquire detailed, first-hand information on the extent of the damage, in order to act accordingly and avoid delays or dispersion of funds.
The same criterion was also used by Banca Mediolanum to help the customers impacted by the earthquake in Abruzzo, with the distribution of one million euros. “We can grow together” is the motto that fuels the relationship between Banca Mediolanum and its community of customers and agents.
Companies can no longer focus solely on business and ignore the moral and material obligations of the more fortunate with respect to the less fortunate. For this reason, in developing the company, Banca Mediolanum has decided to allocate part of its marketing and communications investment to charitable causes, aimed at helping less fortunate children in the poorest regions around the world. For each account opened, the Bank will now provide, through Fondazione Mediolanum and in collaboration with the Francesca Rava-N.P.H. Italia Onlus Foundation, one month of schooling (including books, medicine, food, housing and clothing) to a child in Haiti. In just under three months, as a result of the latest advertising campaign, we guaranteed one year of schooling for nearly 1,300 children, and this number is sure to grow.
